Growers' Day
On Friday 9 December 2022 we celebrated the annual Growers’ Day with lunch at Old Red, our beautiful event space that sits on the hill overlooking the Peter Lehmann winery in the Barossa.
Growers’ Day is a time to recognise the wonderful growers and their families who put love and care into providing the best quality fruit for the Peter Lehmann wines, many having done so for years. Despite 2022 having had challenging weather conditions in the lead-up to vintage, the growers have continued to be resilient year after year, and this was an opportunity to recognise, applaud and thank them for all their hard work to date. We also welcomed our new winemakers, creating a valuable opportunity for them to meet the growers with whom they’ll work so closely for years to come.
This year we welcomed over 160 guests to the winery to enjoy a lunch with excellent food from Howard Fire & Desserts from Laurito Cakes. The relaxed event was a great opportunity to reflect on the year that was and look ahead to the opportunities for the brand and our communities in 2023. John Casella and Nigel Westblade spoke at the event and while openly sharing the challenges the industry faces, the overall message was clear. The Peter Lehmann team places great value on its relationships with growers and we are committed to working together to deliver the best quality wines. The growers left feeling relaxed and happy with the confidence they are growing for a great Barossa winery and brand.
There is great optimism for the 2023 vintage, and we look forward to another prosperous year.
